The War Between The Classes is about prejudice. The person telling the story, Amy Sumuto and her boyfriend Adam join "The Color Game." The Color Game is when you are given an orange, light green, dark green, or blue wrist band signifying your social class. Blue being the highest and orange being the lowest. Orange people are barely making it by and must bow to all the colors above them. Light Green people are doing better than the oranges but must bow to their superiors, Dark green and Blue. Dark Green only has to bow to the Blue people. The Blues don't have to bow to anyone and they are filthy rich. Amy ends up being a blue while Adam ends up being an orange. All the blues are usually light greens or oranges in real life and are not white at all. They play the game and Amy realizes she doesn't like people bowing to her. It makes Amy feels mean and she doesn't like it. So she tries to unite all the colors by posting signs all around the school. Then she is demoted to an orange and the oranges and some light greens have a meeting. They all want to make wristbands with all colors. They place them in lockers so when school starts they can pass them out. They show up to school and all the wristbands are gone from all their lockers. Instead they use red ribbons to pass out. Some people didn't want them so they stuck them on their backs without them knowing. After a while, everyone was soon wearing red ribbon on them either on a wrist or on thier backs.
